Summary:
I have spent this week researching and working in my sketchbook, I have started focusing strongly on the themes of creating new forms and hybrid animals. I've tried to find artists who would help inspire my animal menagerie and the environments in which these creatures will be displayed.
George Grie
Above
after seeing this image I started researching George Grie, I really like this
style as it suits my themes or at least could complement my themes by
influencing the landscape that I create which will feature the animals that I
have also created.

RITA
KAZAKEVICA
This
is an interesting take on the animal hybrid theme that I’m interested in at the
minute, as she uses a very photography based style, which is strongly focused
on using animal heads to replace human figure’s heads. This is interesting as I
haven’t considered looking at using photography or human body parts.
Thomas
Grünfeld
I find this taxidermy really interesting, if I could use real taxidermy to create sculptures for my animal menagerie, on the other hand I think that simply splicing two animals together has really interesting results which I'd like o experiment with.
Dan
Mountford
Dan Mountford is another example of a double exposure artist, I want to possibly experiment with using a double exposure style with the rock formations that I could create in the style of George Grie.
